Answers for both apps, in one place.
This page collects the most common questions about Micro Habit Hub and The Split, from calm daily habit tracking to the more cosmic side of decision-making.
The answers below reflect the same overall approach behind both apps: local-first, simple to use, and built without ads or tracking.
Micro Habit Hub
Questions about daily habits, recurrence, streaks, history, and Live Activities.
What is a "Micro-Habit"?
A micro-habit is a small, easy-to-accomplish task that takes less than two minutes, such as taking a deep breath, drinking a glass of water, or stretching your arms. The goal is to build consistency through low-friction actions.
How do I add a new habit?
Tap the + Add micro habit button on the Today view. You can choose an emoji, a name, a frequency per day, and a start time.
Why do some habits appear in "FOCUS FOR TODAY" and others in "UPCOMING HABITS"?
- FOCUS FOR TODAY contains habits that are scheduled for today and are currently active, meaning they are not completed yet.
- UPCOMING HABITS contains all recurring habits so you can always see your longer-term routines. Habits that are not scheduled for today, or are already done for today, stay in this section at full opacity.
What do the tags like "Daily" or "M W F" mean?
These are recurrence tags that show how often a habit is scheduled.
- Daily means every single day.
- M W Th F means the habit runs on specific weekdays.
- One-off means the task happens only once.
Why is my completed task dimmed?
In the COMPLETED TODAY section, tasks are dimmed to make it visually clear that they are done for now. In UPCOMING HABITS, recurring habits remain at full opacity to emphasize that they are still part of your ongoing routine.
How do streaks work?
Streaks, marked with the fire icon, track how many consecutive scheduled days you have completed a recurring habit. They are shown only for recurring habits, such as daily or weekly ones, and not for one-off tasks.
What is the "COMPLETED" tab?
The Completed tab shows your full history of finished and archived micro-habits. It is the place to reflect on your longer-term progress.
Can I clear my history?
Yes. On the Completed tab, tap DELETE ALL in the top-right corner. You will be asked to confirm before the history is permanently removed.
What are Live Activities?
Live Activities show your next upcoming habit and your progress directly on your iPhone Lock Screen. They update automatically throughout the day.
My Live Activity seems stuck or duplicated. What should I do?
The app is designed to synchronize with the system registry every time you open it. If you see a duplicate or a stale activity, simply opening the app should clean up orphaned activities and synchronize the state again.
The Split
Questions about quantum splitting, themes, categories, metrics, privacy, and clearing your timeline.
What is The Split?
The Split is a decision-making tool designed to help you navigate choices by framing them as branching realities. Whether you are stuck between two options or just want a more interesting way to reflect on a path, it gives you a high-fidelity experience for making and tracking decisions.
How does "Quantum Splitting" work?
When you choose to split the universe, the app uses a quantum indeterminacy simulation based on timing data and randomized algorithms to select between your two options. In the app's multiverse logic, you are seeing the outcome of one branch of reality.
What do the metrics mean?
- Entropy measures how much randomness and disorder is being introduced into your personal timeline as you make more decisions.
- Branches shows the total number of times you have split your reality using the app.
- Stability reflects the integrity of your primary timeline, which may fluctuate as you create more branches.
What is the difference between "Choose Randomly" and "Choose Yourself"?
- Choose Randomly lets the quantum simulation decide for you. This is the core Split mechanic.
- Choose Yourself lets you record a decision manually when you already know what you want, while still keeping it in your timeline and metrics.
How do I use Categories?
You can tag decisions with categories like Work, Life, or Food to keep your timeline organized. This makes it easier to look back and see which parts of your life are generating the most branches.
Can I change the look of the app?
Yes. In Settings, you can choose from themes like Cosmic, Nebula Rose, Neon Grid, and The Void. Each one changes the colors, gradients, and overall vibe of your timeline flux.
Is my data private?
Yes. The Split is built with a privacy-first approach.
- 100% local storage: your history and decisions stay on your device.
- No cloud connection: the app works offline and does not collect analytics.
- Total anonymity: no accounts, no emails, and no logins.
How do I clear my history?
If you want to reset your metrics and start a fresh timeline, use the Clear History option in Settings. That action cannot be undone.
